National Grid Recognizes Alcan Cable for Their Emergency Response Efforts during Northeast Ice Storm

  3/19/2009

Alcan Cable received a letter of recognition from National Grid, one of the largest utilities in the U.S. serving approximately 3.3 million electricity customers, for outstanding service during the December ice storm that hit New York and New England.

A carefully coordinated effort between Alcan Cable and National Grid personnel resulted in Alcan Cable expediting the manufacture and delivery of the required electrical conductor to National Grid’s storm damaged territories.  The letter of appreciation recognized Alcan Cable personnel from customer service, sales, operations, manufacturing and shipping for their extra efforts and extended hours to support National Grid’s power restoration efforts.

“Thank you for your continued support to National Grid and for playing a key part in enabling National Grid to restore electric service to more than 550,000 of our customers affected by the storm,”  states Ross W. Turrini, Vice President of U.S. Procurement for National Grid.
